Am I a geek? I want to be one!
I enjoy following self-confessed geeky bloggers, and it’s got me thinking about whether I am a geek too. I view being a geek as something to be proud of, but I want to know if I fit the profile?
I’m an introvert
I’ve always been quiet and shy, but I recognise more than ever that I need alone time to function and that too much socialising overwhelms me.
I wear glasses
I have done since I was 16 and I love it. My glasses are a part of my outfit and I never wear contact lenses.
I love history
I know a lot about British history and I am passionate about it; the Tudors, Plantagenets, castles, legends, queens… I fell in love with history when I was 10 years old and I still enjoy reading about it and visiting places of interest.
I am not really a fangirl
Being a fangirl is quite a new concept for me. I don’t think I am that crazy about anything.
I love Disney
Disney classics hold a special place in my heart. I don’t own any or ever shop at Disney though.
I like Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Sherlock…
But not THAT much. I don’t buy memorabilia or re-watch episodes. At the moment I am loving Once Upon a Time.
Comics are a no-go
I have never been into comics, it’s not happening for me.
I adore books
Always have, always will. Mostly novels, but I also read history books. I enjoy historical fiction, contemporary, stories with a magical or spooky twist and I’m always open to trying something new.
Today, I am grateful for my geeky interests. They make me happy, and they’re a part of who I am.
