Grateful for crochet

crochet hook and yarn

I only learnt how to crochet in September, but already it’s having a big effect on my life. I have previously discussed about my depression and anxiety, and creativity helps me to cope.

I love to write and paint, but sometimes I don’t want to type anything or look at a screen. Painting can be messy and takes up too much space, and I don’t have a home office.

I wanted to try a new craft which doesn’t take up much room, that I can pick up or put down, and which will be relaxing and cosy to do while I’m snuggled up on dark winter evenings. Crochet seemed ideal.

Having that crochet hook and yarn in my hands makes me feel like anything is possible, that I can create any number of things. Seeing them coming to life was magical.

So I am very grateful from the bottom of my heart that I learnt how to crochet. I am learning everyday and I am so excited about where this craft will take me.

What are you thankful for today?
