Oh books, how I adore you… this year I am going to be frugal when it comes to book buying and I plan on using the library as much as possible, but I have identified a few that I am absolutely certain deserve a place on my bookshelf!
In A Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
I do love a good thriller, and this one looks AMAZING. It’s about a girl who is invited to the bachelorette party/hen do of a girl she has not seen in 10 years, and what happens in the wood… That’s all I know about the book but I am hungry for it and can’t wait to find out what happens.
The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead
This sounds as though it has everything that a fantasy needs… a countess, check. Running away from an arranged marriage, check. A fascinating location, check. I’m going to be buddy reading this with Rosie from Eat Read Glam and I am so excited!
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Booktube is already going wild about this one! This is about a journey, a voyage like no other, and a struggle to keep an object out of the hands of a dangerous family… It sounds like an amazing adventure that will drag you in from the first page.
Daughter of Deep Silence by Carrie Ryan
After the destruction of a luxury yacht, Frances is out for revenge. She has lost everything already, so what does anything matter except avenging the death of her loved ones? She will do whatever it takes, whatever the cost… an intriguing thriller that I can’t resist.
A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab
This book picks up four months after the first novel in the Darker Shade of Magic series, where different versions of London exist and Kell is the only one who can travel between them. In this novel, Black London, the London which has withered away to nothing, is staging a comeback. What could possibly go wrong! I hope I enjoy this as much as I did the first.
What are your must reads for the year?
