I am still doing my best to keep up a running routine, but to be honest, week 4 of C25K is where I have come unstuck. I’ve been running well up until now, completing every week, and making time for the runs.
But I have been running week 4 for two weeks now, and due to going away for a few days and generally feeling exhausted, I have been finding it tough to make time to run, and to keep going when I am out there.
Week 4 involves running for 3 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 3 minutes, then 5 minutes. I have completed it successfully three times, and failed three times.
I am not ready to move on to week 5, so I am going to stick with week 4 for a bit longer. I have found myself going at a quicker pace, which is making it harder for me to finish; I really need to slow back down again.
The main thing is I am still enjoying the runs, and a bad run is still a run! It has also made me think about pushing ourselves; should we force ourselves to run, or should we listen to our body when it asks for rest?
Yes, on the one hand, the only workout you regret is the one you don’t do; on the other, I don’t want to burnout. Hmm, leave it with me!
